SES Families, Important Reminders:
-Thursday/Friday Dec 18-19, 2025 are Asynchronous Days (there will be no in-person school for Shepherdstown Elementary students). This will allow for important preparations at the new school to be completed prior to students returning from winter break.
-Jan 5th - From 4-6pm Visit your child's classroom at the New Shepherdstown Elementary School, 545 Shepherdstown Campus Blvd.
-Jan 6th - Students return from winter break to the New Shepherdstown Elementary School.

If you missed the parent meetings on 12/2/25 or want to recap changes discussed, here is the link to the power point to view. Thank you all for your attention to understanding the changes, flexibility in supporting changes, and the understanding that changes are uncomfortable for everyone, but looking for the good in them, always. Supporting our staff and students are always our priority in developing the best, safest, and genuinely collaborative school in Jefferson County! A special thank you to those who took time to say thank you for all that is being done to make the smoothest transition emotionally and physically for both staff and students. Thank goodness only a delay day!! Parent meeting in cafeteria tonight to learn about new school changes and processes. Because we are meeting in the cafeteria, I ask that only 1 adult from each family attends with no children accompanying you. It will be jam packed 30 minute presentation and questions to make time for all families to attend. K-2 meets at 5:00 and grades 3-5 at 5:45. Be safe getting around today - still slippery out!
JCS Families: JCS will operate on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. JCS staff will continue monitoring the weather and road conditions through the evening and into the morning. Any change will be communicated by 6:30 am.
Reminder- Tues. at 5:00, 1 member of k-2 families may attend mtg in cafeteria about changes & processes we start in January.1 member of grades 3-5 families may attend at 5:45. 1 member only and no students so we can all fit in the cafeteria please. You will receive the new portion of our parent handbook, learn new arrival and dismissal process and ask questions about the transition.
This week we also begin countdown to Christmas and have dress up days!

SEA Events Coming Up
Monday, Nov. 17th at 6:15 p.m. is the SEA (PTO) meeting in the SES cafeteria.
Tuesday, Nov. 18th from 4-9 p.m. is a Spirit Night Fundraiser at King’s Pizza in Shepherdstown. Be sure to say you’re there to support SES. We’ll earn 15% of sales.

Bus 1971 and 1554 are reported as late bus arrivals this afternoon . As of right now these bus students are still at school waiting with Mrs Payne.
SES Families: This afternoon, Shepherdstown Elementary went on SECURE after an unknown person was seen on the SES campus. Our staff and local law enforcement responded quickly to the situation. Law enforcement gave us the all clear at approximately 12:35 pm.
