Local Girl Scout Daisy Troop 15099 donated 351 school supply items to Shepherdstown Elementary School today! Thanks for supporting our students!
Tomorrow is International Dot Day so we are asking children to wear something with dots tomorrow!

I would like to apologize for the confusion associated with the JCS Attendance County-Wide System. There was a glitch in the system where every elementary family received a phone call about their child being absent. The office staff was frantically trying to answer the phone calls as they could. The phones were ringing off the hook and all four office personnel were trying as quickly as they could to respond to parents who received this call. It was a difficult time for parents and school personnel. Thank you for your continued support.

Monday, August 23, 2021 is the first day of school! Arrrrr...you ready? The school staff is excited to welcome your children back to school. It will certainly be "All Hands-On Deck" on Monday ensuring a successful first day of school. Thank you for your grace and flexibility as we all work our way through all the new routines with you and your children.
Jefferson County Schools is requiring all students PK-12 to wear a mask when indoors (except when eating lunch). This includes the bus. When outdoors, students will not have to wear a mask. This mandate is in effect until Sept. 27th when it will be re-evaluated at the School Board Meeting.
Please remember to send your child to school with a filled water bottle each day. This water bottle will travel home each evening for a cleaning and refill for the next school day. Thank you very much.

Device pick-up for students confirmed for JVA enrollment will be held Friday, Aug 20th, at the Jefferson High School cafeteria. Devices will be distributed alphabetically by last name:
1:00 A-D
2:00 E-K
3:00 L-Q
4:00 R-Z
There will be additional opportunities for device pick up next week for families unable to attend on Friday.

The robots have taken over the JCS Summer Experience!! These future engineers and scientists made some great projects this week. We've had a lot of fun learning with STEM!
Thanks to Appalachian Storyteller Adam Booth, who visited the JCS Summer Experience Tuesday. He spoke to students and staff about our wild and wonderful state and region!
Our students are harnessing the sun during the JCS Summer Experience! It is a delicious way to end the final week of this wonderful summer program! Thank you to our amazing staff for their hard work engaging kids!
JCS Summer Experience Middle school students got a chance to learn with Sergeant Conway and K-9 Bandit from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday. We really appreciate them stepping up to help make this a great summer for kids!
