We're incredibly proud of our mathletes!! Anir and Kate participated in Regional Math Field Day at Potomac State College and truly showcased their exceptional math skills! Anir Nafai took first place and will be heading to States in April, a remarkable achievement! Kate Pearson is our 2nd alternate and will prepare to advance if given the opportunity, demonstrating her determination and perseverance. Way to shine, Terriers!! 💜🩵

JCS Families,
Jefferson County Schools will operate on a modified Non-Traditional Instruction Day (NTID) on Monday, March 16. All evening activities are canceled.
This decision was made after monitoring the weather throughout the weekend and consulting with the National Weather Service Charleston, WV, office this evening. Forecasted severe storms, including high winds up to 80 mph, heavy rain, and the potential for tornadoes, are creating too much uncertainty to plan for either an early or standard dismissal tomorrow afternoon. Keeping students at home helps us avoid putting them or our staff in harm's way.
What This Means for Your Student:
- Students will not report to school tomorrow and will complete their learning from home.
- K–5 students will find assignments and information posted in Rooms, as we did not send devices home for Canvas access.
- 6–12 students should follow the normal NTID process and connect with their teachers through their usual platforms.
- Teachers and staff will be available to support students from 9:15 am – 12:00 pm.
All LSIC meetings scheduled for tomorrow are cancelled and will be rescheduled. Math Field Day has been postponed to Wednesday, March 18.
Thank you for your understanding and partnership as we work to keep everyone safe.

Congratulations to Mrs. Poole for being named our Service Personnel of the Year! She is a dedicated and dependable professional whose commitment to service doesn’t go unnoticed. Our second and third grade friends enjoyed bringing in the season by making gingerbread houses and hot cocoa oobleck! We’re so thankful for the staff members who go the extra mile to make school fun!

The Youth Services Committee, led by Stacy McFarland, delivered a check for $1000 to T.A. Lowery Elementary School for their Candy Cane Express program. Founded in 1992, this program purchases gifts and items for students’ parents to “shop” for all of their children for the holidays. This year, T.A. Lowery will be serving 58 children plus siblings at their school through this program. Volunteers also provide gift-wrapping services. Any left over money from donations goes towards emergency services for these children. Thank you to the Youth Services Committee for their generous donation!
